ANANGAN HILL TOP
As we climb up from Kizhur side of the hill , Panikkar kunnu armoured with granite boulders appears clearly on the left. It appears as a tiny companion who stays close to Anangan ,the solitary image .Malayalan and Tamil directorss considered it as a favourite location fit enough to provide a back drop for their films.the acqua duct that crosses the rice fields and infinite number of plantatins add charm to the scenic beauty.

As we rest on the ramparts of the majestic hills watching the valleys below, the valley with green fields etched upon in complex polygons. Free wind comes from the north eastern direction.

A stiff uphill climb to the mountain fold..a serene expansion of the green meadows.. the scrub jungle on the eastern side rise steeply above the valleys.We can see varieties of herbs and shrubs , trees only a few in number.

When we look down from the Kizhur side ,the hills take a bend towards Ananganadi region and it stretches towards Ambalappara region on the eastern side.But on the south western side and western side scrub jungles are absent. The trail went upward along the flat granite rocks which have been smoothened by flowing rain water,boardered by patches of grass lands and solitary shrubs.

As the trail of climbing forks and forks and go upstream ,we reach the the granite peak just above the Ananganadi school.

As i compromise with my heart rate to an acceptable tymphanic beat ,wind played around me like an intimate being perhaps like an intimate puppy. My eyes scanned the infinite arrangement of ancient granite rocks.This side the hills transfigure itself to be a rocky soldier looking west.It is believed the rocks sweat Kanmadam .

Kanmadam seeps from the creeks in the tremendously big rocks when sun glares over them with extreme intensity.The rock-invincible Kanmadam is a sticky tar like substaces with a dark brown colour.we can see Ananganadi highshool in nano buildings.

The panoramic view was streched beyond the Bharathappuzha which flows on the southern side.The continously billowing smoke along with released souls suggested Aivar matam of Thiruvilluamala. The road to Ottappalam from Cherppulassery stretches like a black ribbon that goes parallel to the hills at Anangandi. The road to Vaniyamkulam through Panayur can be traced with least effort.
We felt dizzy as we looked down wards.. The steepness is awesome !The granite cliffs sink into the black cold arms of infinity.They had a tendency to pull us down! Infinite volume of air,the unspoken words of terror and scare hangs on the rocks as if an over sized rain drop waits for its fall.

ANANGAN MALA
The green colour , the dictator rules the whole world in the valleys both remote and close by.,, The green ranging from moss green to parrot green suppress the other colours.. even the sky blue bears the sighs of green fields. As we deviated from the trail that lead the peaks,,,we came across a nother valley; a few boys were resting under a devils tree ,[pala tree.]As we started our down hill journey,

We came across special stone arrange ments, lichen clad boulders were arranged in a particular way.It is interesting to note that Robert Sivel had located twenty two dolemens of megalithic period with sepulchral associations at Kothakkurissy a village veryclose to Anangan mala. Mr. Valath argues that the places around Anangan mala had been influemced byJainese culture
The Anangan mala eco tourism project was inaugurated by sri.Binoy Viswam, hon. minister of forest in the month of may 2010.At the top of the mountain one can have a panoramic view of 50 km circumference.

when I came down I realised that nature reveals its grandeur to those who walk on its wilder side. as I returned the mist started to veil the mountains after the incredible sunset ! Anangan always bless with” anangatha” [ move less, fixed, still] memories for every climber.!
