MOORE HEN
As I reached the vast stretch of lotus fields along the banks of Bharathappuzha at Thirunnavaya on 22nd february 2012 , after noon sun beams have started to fade achieving a golden glow.There was a vast expanse of water submerged with floating vegetation like salvinia ( African payal )interspersed with shore line vegetation.as I drew up by a hedge I heard the bird sound,,,ka ka ka ka kree kree kree kree Im not certain if this is a correct notation.! whining squeky notes in a series growing down near the end!
MOORE HEN BESIDE BRONZE WINGED JACANAS
I sighted a flock of purple moor hen by the side of a folk of bronze winged Jacanas. We may remain spellbound by the enchanting beauty of the bird ,is it a duck?yes ,when it swims,,is it a crane? yes.
NEELAKKOZHI OR MOOREHEN
Outer wings and upper part of the head remains pale dingy green brown changing into deep purple blue on the rosy of the upper plumage .Tail appears black not real black embellished with green reflections .exposed portion of the wings and scalpel was greenish blue.the sides of head are grey tinged with cobalt blue We may wonder!
NEELAKKOZHI OR MOOREHEN
.According to Hawalian mythology ,a moor hen brought fire to the human kind and in the process the fire scorched her fore head. So like Prometheus who stole fire from heaven and gifted it to man kind.
JACANAS STARTED TO FLY
When they sensed an alarm the Jacanas started to get panic at first, moore hens remained alert but they did nt get frantic as the Jacanas ,Jacanas started to run scattered.
MOORE HEN
When the moorhens confirmed the there was an intrusion ,they also started to fly.

Moorhens can be taken as domestic bird whose cages have been spotted along the banks of Bharathapuzha
NEELAKOZHI
.I spotted two moorhens along the Thirunnavaya wet lands near Kodakkal at 9 am on tenth of April 2013 for the last time. They were searching for food among the weeds which are wet after the night rain.
